Lights, switches, sensors, integrations. The house is a platform.

A few values are blurred on purpose.
Home Assistant runs the apartment: Z-Wave lights, smart plugs and a motion sensor in the office, a robot vacuum called The Rock, and BirdBath, the NAS that holds everything. A voice assistant can switch the lights too.
A few things run on their own. The office stereo comes on when the motion sensor sees me and shuts off after an hour without motion. At night the workbench lamp comes on with motion and goes off after 10 minutes.
Lately I pair it with Claude. Claude connects to Home Assistant directly, so I describe a change in plain English and it does the fiddly parts: reading the current setup, editing automations, scripts and dashboards, checking the config before a restart, and backing up every file before it touches it.
When I moved the big workbench light from a dimmer to a smart plug, one request updated the dashboard, the automations, the scripts, what the voice assistant sees, and my notes. Adding a bedroom light group went the same way.
It also audited the whole setup. It turned on daily backups that weren't happening, cleared out devices that had been dead for over a year, and connected the NAS so its health shows up on the dashboard.
